
The world known gasket producing Company ELRING has been founded
by Paul Lechler and Richard Klinger. Both German entrepreneurs have
been involved in separate segments for a long time. Their companies
were integrated only in one hundred years, what gave rise to the
world known brand ELRING. The start was set in 1879 by Paul
Lechler. He opened technical products and gaskets trading house in
the town of Stuttgart. As for Richard Klinger , in 1885 he opened a
workshop in Vienna. In 1914 Paul Lecher launches gaskets
production in Stuttgart. All its products were oriented at
automobile production which was still young at that time. In 1930
Richard Klinger's Company produces the first cylinder head gasket.
Military actions during the World War II gave the companies
possibility to increase significantly their production volumes. In
1964 Lechler's Company goes through reorganization and gets a new
name Elring Dichtungswerke KG. In 1974 ELRING purchases mechanical
rubber goods producing Company in Spain , which was named as
ElringKlinger, S.A.
1994 witnessed integration of Elring GmbH and automotive division
of Richard Klinger GmbH Company, with new name Elring
Klinger. From then on the Company experienced active development
due to its high quality and innovative technologies.
