The authoritative American magazine Car & Driver included it
in the top ten inventions of the year, along with a loud
discoveries such as solid-state batteries, Planar Energy, the
experimental system wireless charging of electronic devices in the
conceptual models of Audi, and Rolls-Royce, and a new lightweight
suspension design of the German experts of the company ZF-based
composite materials and carbon fiber.
"Despite the fact that the technology AMT (Air
Maintenance Technology) is technically rather complicated, it is
relatively simple idea and concept arose from the structure of the
bus is in motion, - said Jean-Claude Keen, Technical Director of
Goodyear. - Maintain a constant level of inflation pressure - this
is what they want the drivers from the opening of the vulcanization
process. Goodyear took the challenge and has already achieved some
success in development. Methods of automatic tire inflation will
become a technological breakthrough near future, without which the
drivers will not be able to provide continued operation of the
vehicle. "
By construction, the AMT - a fully
self-contained unit that requires no additional electronics and the
external pump. A miniature pump and many other parts of the system
will be located directly in the bus. Bus with automatic paging will
be able to maintain the necessary internal pressure and have a
significant impact on fuel economy and emissions of CO2, increase
the service life and overall safety. Technology is now being tested
in the AMT innovation centers Colmar-Berg, Luxembourg and the U.S.
Akron, exploring the development of two vectors - for passenger and
commercial tire line Goodyear.
